Suzu Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 23, 2026
Status: Beta

Suzu is a TOEFL study app currently offered as a limited beta. This policy explains what information the beta handles and why.

Information we collect

Please do not submit sensitive personal information in free-text answers or recordings.

How we use information

We use this information to provide and personalize study features, save progress, operate and secure the beta, diagnose crashes, understand feature usage, support testers, and improve Suzu. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Processors and international transfers

We use service providers to run the beta, including hosting and database providers, Sentry for error monitoring, and PostHog for product analytics. These processors handle information on our behalf under their own security and data-processing terms. Depending on the provider and tester location, information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.

Retention and security

We keep account and study data while the beta account is active and for a limited period afterward when reasonably needed to operate the beta, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or meet legal obligations. Analytics and diagnostic records are retained according to our configured provider retention periods. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed. No system is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for a small beta.

For AI writing feedback, Suzu sends the task prompt, source text, and your submitted writing to OpenCode and its selected model provider (GLM-5.3-Flash by default). Feedback is automated and may be imperfect. Do not include personal or sensitive information in essays. We do not send your name, email address, or account identifier with these model requests. Feedback helpfulness ratings are recorded in PostHog without essay text.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing. These choices are intended to support rights that may apply under laws such as Japan's APPI and the EU/UK GDPR. Some rights depend on where you live, and we may need to verify your identity before acting.

To request deletion, email hello@suzuprep.com from the address associated with your account with the subject “Suzu data deletion request.” Include enough information to identify the account. We will confirm receipt, verify the request if necessary, and delete or de-identify covered account and study data from active systems, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups until they cycle out.

You can reduce analytics collection in builds that expose an analytics opt-out. Deleting the app alone does not delete server-side account data; contact us using the process above.

Children

The beta is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required to consent to data processing where they live), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the beta changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
